One of the most iconic sights of Amsterdam, Damrak Waterfront is known for a photogenic stretch of old houses alongside the Damrak canal. These tall and narrow houses were built in the 17th century on large wooden poles. They are also called the "Dancing Houses of the Damrak" because the houses have slowly sunk over time and slightly tilted at different angles.
