Located on the southwestern side of Tonsai Bay on Phi Phi Islands, Monkey Beach is a 150-meter long white-sand beach with emerald color water. It got its name because the limestone cliff on the backside of the beach is covered with lush vegetation that are frequented by monkeys as a comfortable habitat. Other than the famous furry inhabitants. the beach is also known as a top-notch snorkelling spot. The shallow waters is the perfect habitat for colourful and vivid underwater creatures. It really feels like swimming in an aquarium when you get in the water at Monkey Beach.
Monkey Beach is sometimes confused with Monkey Bay, another beautiful spot located on the other side of Phi Phi Don Island, at the entrance of Loh Dalum.
