Went to check out the scenery at Hyner View State Park and saw a porcupine on the way up the mountain.
Our first rugged road experience in the Jeep. We got rewarded with a great view after wondering many times along the way if we had taken a wrong turn!
View of the lookout at Hyner SP that we went to earlier in the day from the road while driving back from Kettle Creek SP
Nice park, roomy FHU sites and not to close together. Temps were a little chilly and fall-like.
Fall leaves were just getting started.
Elk viewing during rutting season was a highlight of the trip. We braved an early morning (dark) trip on the mountain roads to make it to the viewing area. Fun outing with some pretty close elk encounters.
Best. Ice cream. Ever. If you’re ever in the middle of Pennsylvania you gotta go get some. The botanical garden was also beautiful and worth the visit.
