It was quite an experience, not in a good way. The weather was horrible, grey, windy and cold. The boat was not that big so the strong wind made the ride very choppy. We got a handle of the fishing rod fairly quickly (it was our first time fishing) but the first two spots we stopped to fish, very few people caught fish. Maybe too many people on the boat tried to fish at the same time.
We ended up catching a lot of fish at the 3rd and the 4th stops. Most of them were small ... we had to put back any fish less than 12 inch in length. There are 3 hooks on each fishing rod. Sometimes we caught 2 or even 3 fish on one go. I have to say the fishing part itself was fun minus the crappy weather. We felt seasick and I threw up twice.
The boat staff gutted and cleaned fish for us at the end of the trip. We got to keep 5 (out of 20-30 we caught between the two of us). It was interesting to see as soon as the captain started cutting up the fish, tons of seagulls just appeared out of nowhere and followed our boat in hope of catching any fish scraps thrown by the captain.
