Part of Table Mountain National Park, Boulders Beach is located in Cape Peninsular just an hour south of Cape Town. The beach is home to Boulders Penguin Colony, a unique and endangered land-based colony of African Penguins. This colony is one of only a few in the world, and the site has become famous and a popular international tourist destination.
The penguin viewing area consists of a few boardwalks built as a measure to allow close and safe encounter with these wonderful birds. This beach is also ideal for swimmming as immense boulders shelter the cove from currents, wind and large waves.
