Located at the southern end of the Spanish island of Gran Canaria, the Maspalomas Lighthouse is an active 19th century lighthouse right in the middle of a long stretch of sandy coastline. The lighthouse is at the start of a busy promenade area with a whole host of restaurants, bars, and shops. The area is a popular place to watch the sunset, visit the Maspalomas beach (be aware that some sections are nudist beach), go out for dinner, and / or enjoy the attractive night life in the area.
