There’s no doubt Phi Phi’s Maya Bay is stunning, made popular by the Leonardo di Caprio movie in 1999. Glad to have seen it sans the crowd back in the day.
Located in Phi Phi Ley, Maya Bay is a white-sand beach with turquoise water, surrounded by gigantic limestone cliffs covered in lush vegetation. It is known to be a great swimming and snokeling spot given its beautiful coral reefs (although at risk of destruction due to over-tourism). The Beach became world famous after it became the filming location for “The Beach” starring Leonardo Dicaprio.
