Stilt fishing is a method of fishing unique to Sri Lanka. Fishermen sit high on stilts (vertical sticks with an attached crossbars) and dangle fishing rods into the ocean. Itβs a dying tradition today and most stilt fishermen you encounter in Sri Lanka now are imposters trying to profit from tourists.
