Myra Canyon Trestles is a highly-scenic section of the restored Kettle Valley Railway Trail. Just south of Kelowna and about 30 minutes from downtown, Myra Canyon runs along a steep-walled canyon and takes you past picturesque farms, orchards, vineyards, and golf courses. Originally built by hand at the turn of the last century, this impressive trail is highlighted by 2 tunnels and 18 trestle bridges built between 1912 and 1914.
Through the efforts of Myra Canyon Trestles Restoration Society, Myra Canyon has successfully become part of the Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park and also a Canadian National Historic Site.
Myra Canyon Trestles is great for hiking, biking, or taking a guided tour with one of the local tour companies (Myra Canyon Bike Rental & Tours, Kettle Valley Railway Cycling Company, Cheers! Okanagan Tours). It is about 12-km one way between the Myra and Ruth Gates (24 km round trip). The grade is within 2 degrees with no steep climbs.
