Our first day in red river gorge, we set up our tent and went to check out the natural bridge trail.
We made it to the bridge but quickly turned around because well, it was 5pm during winter. We ended up walking through the last .5miles in the dark.
We went back to the campsite and started a fire. We ate dinner and then saw rain in the forecast so we quickly packed everything back up into the car and got into the tent.
10 minutes later and it was down pouring. It rained so hard for about 9 hours. Our -20 degree sleeping bags did a good job keeping us warm and our rain fly stood up to nonstop pouring rain for about 6 hours before the rain started to leak through to the tent. The tent fly survived the last 3 hours of downpour and we successfully stayed dry.
