We arrived in Johannesburg early Monday morning, November 8, 2021, and spent the rest of the day catching up from the 30+ hours it took us to get here. Our safari doesn’t begin until Saturday but we flew in early to explore a bit of Joburg. The hotel I booked, The Emperors Palace, looks very much like Caesar’s Palace in LasVegas. The complex has 3 hotels, a casino, 3 show rooms and lotsof restaurants. Unfortunately, due to Covid, two of the hotels are closed. Fortunately, their Covid numbers are way down so hopefully tourists will start coming back.
