The Celeste River is located in Tenorio Volcano National Park, in Northern Costa Rica, above Lake Arenal. The River got its name Celeste (translates to light blue) because of the turquoise colored water, which is a result of different minerals mixed with volcanic chemicals.
Tenorio Volcano National Park is known for Tenorio Volcano, natural hot springs, hiking trails, wildlife, and most notably, Rio Celeste Waterfall. The 98-feet tall waterfall powerfully plunges into a pool of bright blue water surrounded by dense tropical forest. It's a truly striking sight.
