Teddy Bear Museum is a specialty museum dedicated to Teddy Bears with multiple exhibits. Each exhibit has its own theme and each theme has its own stories. Each teddy bear is made with hand-picked fabric and dressed in specially designed costumes for the chosen story.
The story of the Teddy Bear originated in 1926 when American’s 26th president, Theodore Roosevelt, whose nickname was Teddy, was a bear hunting trip. At the end of his trip, he had not shot a single bear. One of staff members caught a bear cub and lashed it to a tree for President Roosevelt to shoot. He refused. President Roosevelt felt it was inappropriate behavior for a sportsman such as himself. This story spread rapidly, people soon started to make their own Teddy Bears.
