A few cocktails and desserts later we walked to The Umbrellas. Undoubtedly one of the most remarkable and visited places in the city. Going to Thessaloniki and not visiting the umbrellas is like not being there.
They’re actually one of the most photographed sculptures around the world. You may think it’s a new installation but it has been an integral part of the waterfront in Thessaloniki, Greece, for more than 20 years.
It was designed by the late Greek sculptor George Zongolopoulos and constructed in 1997.
