I have arrived in Copenhagen at the very early hour of 12am. Thank you mom and dad for being on the phone with me while I tried to figure out new transportation! I ended up purchasing the copehangen card which was very useful and saved me a ton of money. It includes 80 attraction passes and passes for all transportation. I used it to get to use the metro to get to my hostel. I stayed at the Urban Camper, where I had one bunk bed while three others had the rest. We were inside a tent in a large room designed to look like a forest. Such a unique experience!
After a night full of rest, I quickly got ready and went exploring. My first stop was to the Cisterne art museum. Every year, they challenge and artist to use the cisterne as there mode of choice and to create something. This year the artist was from South Korea and she used small lights and large films to illustrate different points inside. I then took a walk through the royal gardens and saw the Army academy and this cool building that use to be a house. I then continued on a walk through a more historic residential area. On this walk, I passed the Carl Jacobson gate tower, as well as the elephant bridge. Elephants are a symbol of child art derived from Denmarks Order of the Elephant. I then took the metro downtown and walked around. After the conclusion of my walk, I took the metro back toward my hostel where I got some dinner before going to bed.
