We started our journey with a quote from Bjork. We joked that we would hunt her down and find her home. Little did we know…
I slammed my pinky finger in the door and it got pretty bruised. So I didn’t take any pictures. But Ky, Jamie, Olivia, and Ian did the zip line and Alice jumped on the trampoline. They played until 10:30 pm and it was still light outside.
After some discussion, we decided to start at Perlan, the National History Museum. We got to roam through an actual, man-made ice cave. We had ice cream in Iceland at the cafe. The top floor was a revolving done with 360 degree views of Reykjavik.
We were doing a home exchange with an Icelandic family. This is their cat, Furo, who was very friendly and affectionate. It sat on Olivia’s chest for over an hour. It had a strange meow that sounded like a damsel in distress, getting stabbed in the eye. The family assured us that the vet said this was not pathological.
I would say this was a highlight. We drove there. Jamie took a bus. The water was not deep blue. It was more like a detergent water blue, but beautiful nonetheless. The water was a perfect temperature at around 38 degrees Celsius. We sipped drinks in the lagoon like the bourgeois that we are. Olivia and Ian had a bright blue slushee called “Krap,” but it actually did not taste like “Krap.”
