The Agra Fort was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar during the 16th century. The Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal for his wife, was imprisoned here by his son who took over his reign by force in 1638. Agra Fort is now a UNESCO Heritage Site.

Fatehpur Sikri, “City of Ghosts,” was once the capital of the Mughal Empire. The Mughal Emperor, Akbar, built many royal places in this city, especially for his wives. But the biggest is his Hindu wife who bore him a son This city was abandoned after only 13 years of being built. #worldtravelers #theworldisourclassroom

Riding on the elephant to Amber Fort/Palace. Amber Palace was a residence of Rajput Maharajas and their families. There was a series of cobblestone paths to the top. Amber Fort overlooks the Maota Lake. We enjoyed the Hindu-Islamic architecture once again. I never realized the Islamic influence in India.

City Palace
City Palace is a palace in Jaipur that is a joke to the Jaipur royal family. The royal family has around 500 personal servants. The construction of the palace was completed in 1732.
