Journey to Ipoh, Perak From Johor Bahru.
We had several pit stops to fill our stomach. From JB to Ipoh by car is about 6 hours drive.
After checking in to our hotel, we headed to the famous concubine lane.
Savouring all the local delicacy of Ipoh in this foodcourt.
Chicken and prawn noodles
Satay
Cuttlefish and Kangkung
Kuih
Love the vibes in this street selling local food and desserts
We had breakfast in this old school coffee shop. The decor was kept in the original old design, the tiles, the furniture are probably from the old days.
Food is very good, curry noodles.
They tea egg dessert is very nice.
We drove to this small town out of Ipoh to have lunch at Ming Feong. Again another old school restaurant. They preserved the original furnitures and looks so rustic.
This restaurant is famous for a duck dish called puppy duck - kow zai ngap in Cantonese.
To me this is the highlight of my Ipoh trip. After lunch at Pusing, we drove 40mins to Bercham and found this gem.
Coffee
Outwardly it is another old style coffee shop.
But inside a treasure - artisan coffee with barista at work!
The coffee is so lovely. Aromatic coffee even before being seated!
Best part is - half the price of Starbucks
Stopover for tea break before proceed to Genting Highlands.
Quiet small town famous for local confectionery.
