Happy Virtual New Year! COVID style NYE at home - we made sweet potato chili, enjoyed some beers from our fall Vermot trip, and played Among Us with The Budnick’s! Not our typical NYE, but surprisingly more fun rah we expected 🎉🍻
Car-parade baby shower turned into a front lawn gathering to celebrate the impending arrival of Baby Bateman #3 hosted by Ashley and Katelyn. 🍩🍼
Valentines Day at home - homemade pasta in skillet chicken parm with Insignia wine ❤️🍷
Set out to do an out and back hike at Mount Marshall but didn’t make it very far because MC‘s new hiking boots started to give her blisters. Headed back to the car before they got too bad.
Post hike - we still decided to reward ourselves with some beers. Old Bust Head had a nice patio where we were able to joy enjoy their beers outside outside.
Hike number two of our March VA trip - this time at Sky Meadow State Park with Dad’s friend Jen. Despite a slow start (forgotten phone in the car!), this hike was completed successfully! 🥾
The hike started with a solid hill, and then the rest was relatively flat. MC had to switch into sneakers halfway through, but was prepared with Band-Aids so this time she was able to finish the hike!
Met up with Don, Ann, Stephanie and Jonathan at Wheatland brewery after the hike. We were originally going to use an igloo but it turned out to be a nice day so we sat outside at the picnic tables. Good selection of beer and really yummy panini‘s! Great way to finish off the afternoon!
When we got home, Dad got to work in the kitchen and made us some artisanal homemade bread! Delicious!
Celebrated Nrupen’s 40th birthday with some outdoor cupcakes and beers at Ghost Hawk in Clifton. Surprisingly, many north Jersey breweries aren’t child-friendly right now, but this one was - Pavan was able to run around the “dumpster chateau” (aka parking lot on the side of the building)! It was great to see friends after a cold, COVID/anti-social winter.
Got on board with the TikTok baked feta trend 🤣
One step closer to normalcy!
Post run / failed grocery store visit brews from 902 Brewing.
Return of Lapka “adult” Easter although there may be more kids than adults these days! A&E hosted a COVID-style Easter with friends including outdoor games (an egg decorating, spoon race, egg hunt , sack race relay race - we won but had to borrow Charlotte for our relay), food and trivia (of course Kevin won!). It was SO nice to see everyone and get back to traditions!
Dad stopped in for a quick visit on his way to NY, so we spent the day in NYC at the Met. It was pretty empty at the museum, probably a combo of it being midweek and COVID. After a late lunch at Tamama, we headed home to relax and cook dinner at home.
Jess’s return to barre teaching after BB3 (aka Davin) was born! She taught a Friends & Family class which was most excellent! Rainy weather prevented us from grabbing brunch afterwards 😖
