Arrived in Paris
Stayed at Le Metropolitan Tour Eiffel Amazing Eiffel Tower views from every room ❤️
Visited the Orangerie - amazing water lilies paintings by Monet - small gallery only this and a few other paintings but worth it to see the waterlillies
Started the day with le petit dejuiner at Angelina - pain au choc of course and a fantastic hot chocolate. Brought some macrons for the road can confirm they were really tasty. Angelina’s has a fancy afternoon tea vibe and doesn’t break the bank
Musee d’Orsay - some amazing paintings and sculptures in here, loved the Van Gogh, Monet and Dagas paintings. Also have a see through clock face in one of the rooms with views across the Seine, makes for great pictures
The batobus is a great way to get around - not too expensive and all day hop on hop off at some of the most iconic paris landmarks, nicer way to see the sights and get about than the metro
Luxembourg gardens - nice for a walk - lots of places to sit and you can rent little toy boats to sail on the pool for children. Stunning gardens in the centre of Paris
Pantheon- amazing architecture from the pendulum clock in the centre to the iconic ceilings. Can also visit the crypts that house the resting places of famous people from history like Victor Hugo and Marie Curie
Sacré-coeur- fabulous building can go in and walk around for free. Again amazing architecture and stain glass etc. you can also go to the top of the dome but you do have to pay for this.
Warning you have to climb a lot of steps to get to the Sacré-coeur as it sits on top of a hill hence the view. There is a like tram to the top as well. There are also about 300 steps to the top of the tower not an easy climb but incredible views of Paris
Yummy food and not a bad price.
Did a guided tour of Versailles. The ceiling paintings are astounding and the rooms are so pretty. The tour however was super long and I wouldn’t recommend unless you are really into the history of the palace and the time. Would probably be better to just buy a ticket and look around yourself at your own pace. Tickets sell out well in advance though
The bones of over 6 million people in the Catacombes. Unusual experience but very interesting.
Louvre and pyramid at night are beautiful lit up. Make for great photos
So much to see and go in the Louvre. From the famous paintings like the Mona Lisa, hundreds of statues and carvings and also an ancient Egypt exhibit there is something for everyone. Allow a lot of time to visit here as it is huge and not the easiest to navigate
Simply stunning
1 hour Seine cruise great for seeing pros and it’s iconic landmarks from a different angle and to rest your feet
You can go to 2 places in there Eiffel Tower - floor 2 and the summit, you have to pay more for the summit but the views are incredible. It takes 2 lifts to get to the top.
Stunning stain glass in Sainte Chapelle. Beautiful but expensive for what it is. Not much else besides this.
The concierge - amazing architecture and interesting history about prisoners etc
You can go to the top of the arc if you pay. I didn’t bother as I had already been up the Eiffel Tower and sacré-coeur.
