One of the biggest reasons why we are here is to be with my dad.
We have enrolled the kids in a Filipino school in the Philippines. We want our kids to be fully immersed in their culture and language.
We went to the Cauayan City Public Market. We some interesting things like day old chick barbeque, fish balls snack, amazing Philippine mangoes, pink shrimp paste to go with sour mangoes, and many more! It can get a little stinky, but I love markets.
Getting in house manicured and pedicure before her first day of school tomorrow.
Today is the day, our kids’ first day of school in my hometown, Cauayan City, Philippines. They love that they ride a tricycle to school and that they were uniforms.
Mark bought a lot of fruit trees: mango, rambutan, kalamansi, papaya, guava, lemon and many more. He loves gardening.
We went to visit my mom’s sister, Auntie Nene in Ilagan. It was good to see all my first cousins. The kids were happy to meet their cousins.
We had supper with my cousin from Seattle. We ate at Otep’s which is a traditional Filipino restaurant where we ate with our hands.
Carter did well on his presentation in Science today! Mark I ate our meryenda at Sanitary Bakery. Super yummy Filipino desserts!
Adding more finishing touches to our ancestral home. We are loving our newly done space.
I visited my Auntie Norma, my dad’s cousin. Surprisingly, I also saw my cousin, Chocs. The kids are loving going to school in a tricycle independently. Mark has been planting nonstop. The yard is looking better everyday.
The kids are adjusting well in their new school in the Philippines. They are learning Tagalog and making new friends.
We drove through the Sierra Madre Mountains to get to Aurora Province to see the beach. The Sierra Madre Mountains is a mountain range in the Philippines with twisty and winding narrow turns. We were surprised to see some native tribes called Itas woth really dark skin and thick curly hair. It took a while to find a hotel since some of them are booked already. We finally found one that is satisfactory called La Sunshine Resort. It is right on the Philippine Sea with a pool that is fed by one of the waterfalls in the area. Our water babies were excited to swim again!
