It was a tough hike. A reward was needed.
This was our big splurge for this trip. For most of our lodging we used points. The rooms here are pricey (and honestly, very ordinary). BUT, as a guest of the hotel, the hot springs are available to you 24/7. It’s very nice to be there when it’s not open to the general public. These are sulfur springs so there is an odor to them. Not so with the Orvis hot springs.
This was, I think, our fifth time up the incline. I was attempting to beat my previous times; however, I made a rookie mistake and didn’t bring any fuel other than water. At about the halfway point I kind of bonked. I was getting dizzy and nauseous. So, it was my slowest time yet. But hey, at 50 I still climbed the thing.
