Got up early to train to Pompeii with friends. Only like a 30 minute train ride from Sorrento! I purchased the tickets online and it was a national holiday so the tickets were free! We did a audio guide, which was kinda meh. Pompeii was awesome though, its so much bigger than I thought. It would take you two days to see everything. The coliseum is pretty cool and it was crazy to see the molds of the victims. We ended spending like 5 hours here and then getting lunch, I left straight from Pompeii to meet friends in Bari!
Absolutely amazing. Went out on a whim and joined two other guys from school on a trip to Bari to watch their team play for promotion into Serie A. Stayed in an airbnb outside city, had to walk all the way to stadium because the area was so untouristy. Game was amazing, 50,000 plus fans joined us in singing and watching. Beer was only 4 euros, italians thought we were crazy for ordering two at a time. Bari was down in the first leg and needed to score. They went down to 10 men and still managed to score, it was electric. After, we walked to the city center and ate food at a food truck. I got some kind of spicy sausage. We just lime scootered everywhere! Next day, we got up and explored the city a little, Saint Nicolas was buried in the church there so that was a random thing we happened on. The buildings were all white and looked very mediterranean. Had some fresh octopus and headed home after visiting a vintage flea sale.
Capri was amazing. We hired a private boat tour to travel to Capri from Sorrento. Stopped at all of the different grotto's, with the blue being the most famous. The chair lift was super cool, Capri was gorgeous. The boat dropped us off to spend 5 hours exploring the island a little. Favorite part of the trip was swimming in front of the massive cliffs.
