This morning we got up early and had to be at the specialist breast cancer center and screening. We had a special speaker to speak on the Swedish healthcare system. After finishing with the speaker, I took the train the apartment to finish my homework and take a nap.
I took the train back to school with my finished homework (pictured above to prove I’m learning something). After class, I took the train back to the apartment and spoke to my roommate. We figured out a dinner plan and then talked through possibilities for the weekend and midsommar (national holiday). We walked to the mall close to us and ate cheese burgers with fries at a place called Bastard Burger. We walked back, took showers, and went to bed.
This was desert on Wednesday night. It was a white cake with a pudding layer, raspberry center, frosting layer, and white chocolate on top.
I decided to sleep in this morning. I woke up and got ready and had some yogurt and fruit for breakfast. My friend Olivia texted me and ask if I want to go to Skansen open air museum with her. I got on the train and met her at the metro. We then navigated the tram line for the first time. We arrived at Skansen and paid for our tickets before going inside. We started to walk up lots of hills before making our first stop at the aquarium. Unfortunately pictures were not allowed. We left the aquarium and continued walking. We saw some of the first breeds of farm animals in Sweden. I loved on the cows and the pig was gross. I don’t remember the breeds cause I was distracted but they are different than ours. We also saw a moose, reindeer, bison, and a bear. We walked towards the building section and saw what the Swedes had first lived in. We started walking back toward the entrance. We stopped to get slushies which were so good and now I want them all the time. We got back on the tram to go to the train station then took the train to class. We did a case study in class looking at a patient who we diagnosed with SIBO, basically there bacteria in there stomach overeats the carbohydrates in food. This leads to stomach cramps and nausea. After the case study I got on the train and went back to the apartment. I tried cooking dinner again. I made spinach noodles but the smell was so bad we couldn’t handle eating them. Luckily there is a food place around the corner so I got carbonara which they served with half an egg and it’s raw yolk inside. Gross! Overall a good day!
Oh I forgot about this! We stopped to get a pastry after Skansen. Best banana chocolate muffin I’ve ever had!
Night time view from my room. That’s a big park on the ground.
Things I miss from home:
1. Relying on my own transportation
2. My hairdryer. Sleeping with wet hair sucks
3. Home cooked meals (I know I’ll get better but right now it stinks)
4. Ranch
5. ICE
