Well, Friday consisted of a day mostly for school. We are currently working on a group project where we have to interview 8 Swedes to get there opinion on different aspects within the healthcare system. My group and I went to Gamla Stan to work on this in the morning. We then went to class and talk about hematologist malignancies. After class I rushed to the apartment to change clothes and then headed back to Stockholm. I grabbed a quick dinner at McDonald’s, sadly they had no Mayo or ranch. However, they did have a pineapple lemonade slushy that was very good. After dinner, I walked to the Icebar, and met up with my friends for the experience. A large group of us got tickets together. After checking in, they bundled us up and we went inside. It was very cold but also really cool. The entire inside is made of ice and each year it has a theme. I think the theme this time was igloos in the sunset. I took more videos then pictures and I can’t post those on here. All drinks came in an ice made glass. After the icebar, we went outside to make a game plan for the rest of the evening. I ended up going back to our apartments for the rest of the evening with part of the group. Oh, I also did laundry today, that was entertaining. You have to sign up to use the machine, and then you only have three hours, you have to fob in to use the machine. If you do not get your clothes within three hours then you cannot get back in. I struggled to navigate the machine since it was all in Swedish but I figured it out. I had to hang my clothes to dry because someone didn’t get there clothes out of the dryer before and we are not allowed to move them. Oh well, I have clean clothes and that all that matters.
Saturday morning, my roommate and I decided to take it easy since we both had to fly out early the next morning. We slept in and then got ready to go to the mall in Solna. At the mall we first grabbed a quick lunch, which was that good but at least it was food. We then went on a search for water bottles since we had forgotten to pack those. We successfully found some after several stores. We saw lots of brands that we recognized from home and lots we did not. We got back on the train to go to the apartment. Once we were back we had homework to do and then watched some shows on our laptops. At dinner, we walked to the mall near us, only to find out that on weekend’s restaurants close at 6. Instead we went into the grocery and got ice cream and a drink. We returned to the apartment and had fruit, yogurt, and ice cream. We then wound down the night and got ready to leave on Sunday.
