We passed through some adorable towns along the way to lake Como—Munster, Geschinen.
There’s a ton of cute, small random cafes and restaurants along the way, right off the road too
WOW. This place is insanely beautiful but also a cary. You just keep climbing this massive mountain and the roads barely have guardrails. It’s an absolute MUST driving from Switzerland to Lake Como
After the mountain pass, the towns and views are just as impressive but definitely feel more “Italian”. Some of the towns we passed by—Fontana, Pellegio
Hidden Gem in Nesso, right before bellagio. It’s a trek down and up, with stone stairs but it’s beautiful and well worth it!
Parking is a bit of a bitch but we luckily found something super close to the entrance.
Perfect AirBnb, located in Pescallo. It’s about a 10 minute walk from Bellagio.
Grabbed a quick bite to eat on the lake. Great cheeses and even a better view. Also, a LEGIT rose!
You can easily explore Bellagio in 30-45 mins, going up and down the city streets. Highlights—Salita Serbelloni and Via Giuseppe Garibaldi (Main Street)
The tip of Bellagio, right in the middle/meeting point of the lake. Something that is worth seeing but not a knock out, great view by any means.
Booked a private boat tour through Bellagio Boat Service. It was the 1 hour, hidden treasures tour. We were able to ask for a bottle of Prosecco, while on the boat.
First half was boating from Bellagio to Varenna, seeing some of the sites and villas on the way.
Stopped for one hour in Mennagio—1 hour is really all you need for any of these towns just to explore and walk around. I was able to find a walking though through the city, where you “walk along castle walls” but it really wasn’t worth it. We should have just stayed along the water front and the main square. We did stop for a quick bite and a coffee, right along the water front, before heading back to the boat
Back on the boat we continued on—Terrazzo and the villas here and passed Villa Melzi.
Worth a stroll through the beautiful gardens and ornate chapel. Cost 8 euro a piece
Great tour. Learned so much.
Brought us wrong pizza but delicious. Cheap wine
One of the BEST dinners we had on this trip. This was attached to our hotel. Quite expensive but WOW, so good. Prescott got this pasta/ravioli that was to DIE for.
Walked around, including in the old red light district, which isn’t up to par just yet.
Exhausted from the day, we wanted something easy and good.
