A bone was discovered poking out of a muddy creek bank in the 70’s and it led to the discovery of the 65,000 year old remains of a nursery herd of 16 Columbian Mammoths, that were trapped in a flood. These are big cousins to the Wooly Mammoth, further investigation has led to more findings and some are preserved in situ at this site.
I drove through the Brazos river parklands and into town to check out the Magnolia Market at the Silos.
