Say hi to Venice! This morning I flew from Copenhagen to Venice and after an early morning and flight issues I made it! I got my bags and made my way to the transport ticket counter where I purchased a bus ticket to go to my hotel in Mestre. The attendant was very nice and told me how to find my bus and what stop to get off at. I boarded the bus and told the bus driver where I needed to go to make sure he stopped. I arrived at my hotel and checked in before making my way to my room. I dropped my bags and made my way to McDonalds for a quick bite to eat. I then went to sleep until the next day. I woke up the next morning and went downstairs to get breakfast which consisted of fruit, bread, and juice. I went for a walk around town and got some pizza for lunch before making my way back to the hotel. I rested the rest of the day and met up with my tour group in the morning.
Once I met up with my tour group, I got settled in my new room and talked to my roommates. We then went downstairs and got bus passes to go into Venice. On the ride we made a brief plan and then worked out directions. We started walking the streets of Venice and admired all the water. We made it to our destination after 30 minutes and we admired the oldest bookstore in Venice. After we looked at some shops and got gelato before making our way back to the bus stop to go to the hotel. We got dinner upon arrival where we had some lasagna and tiramisu. We then went back to the hotel to prepare for the next day.
This morning after breakfast, we walked to the bus which then took us to the water taxi. We boarded and used the taxi to take us to the far side of Venice. Here we met with our tour guide. He showed us different sites such as St.Marks Cathedral, different churches, the clock tower, and others. Unfortunately he was very quiet and hard to hear so I don’t really know a lot of the history of what we were looking at. After our tour, I went to the palace museum. I walked through and saw many sights however none of the placards were in English. I know there are artifacts from the palace, different types of artists, and relics from war. I also got to see a glass blowing demonstration. I got a quick lunch of a pizza roll and gelato. I also went on a gondola ride through the canals before meeting up with my group to go back to the hotel to get ready for the evening.

This evening we went to a wine tasting. While driving all you could see was rows and rows of grapes. Upon arrival we got a tour of the facility and how the different types of wine are made. They served us dinner which consisted of pizza, chips, spaghetti, bread, and a lemon pineapple dessert. We tried five different wines, and I still really like moscato as my favorite. We also tried Prosecco, Rose, Chardonnay, and Cabernet.
